Pál Dániel Rényi is a Hungarian editor, political reporter and investigative journalist, currently working for 444.hu, one of the most influential independent news websites in the country.
He specialises in domestic politics, media policy and press freedom in the region. His work has been honoured with several awards of Hungarian and European significance: Rényi is both recipient of a Press Freedom Prize by the regional organisation of Reporters Without Borders and the Hungarian Pulitzer Memorial Prize.
In 2021, he published his first book, Győzelmi Kényszer (A Must Win Game), an analysis of Viktor Orbán's relationship with football, that was not only critically acclaimed but also one of the best-selling books ever written about the current PM of Hungary.
