About me
Louise Rosen has been working in independent media and the arts for over thirty years, starting her career in international film & television as Director of Sales and Co-productions at PBS station WGBH, later launching her own distribution company and sales agency.
Today Louise provides editorial and business consulting services to filmmakers & nonprofits and selectively serves as producer, co-producer, consulting producer, and sales agent. Her projects have included Oscar, Emmy, Sundance, and other award-winning films.
Louise tutors annually at Germany’s Documentary Campus Master School and has been a speaker and moderator at many conferences and film festivals, such as Sheffield DocFest, Hot Docs, & DOC NYC.
She has raised finance for and distributed landmark projects such as Henry Hampton’s Eyes on the Prize and Malcolm X: Make It Plain, Oscar winner Anne Frank Remembered, and Oscar nominees Troublesome Creek: A Midwestern and Berkeley in the 60s.
Her selected producer, co-producer, and consulting producer credits include The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition, Sir! No Sir!, Killing for Love, Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, Prodigal Sons, and Eva Hesse.
Rosen also has extensive nonprofit management experience, most recently as Interim Managing Director of the International Documentary Association and previously as the Executive & Artistic Director of the Maine Jewish Film Festival and Founding Director of the Points North Documentary Forum at the Camden International Film Festival.
Her nonprofit board service includes Maine Media Workshops & College, Women in Film & Video New England, and the International Documentary Association. She currently chairs the advocacy committee of the Maine Film Association.
Prior to her career in film and television, Louise worked in the music business, for Grateful Dead Records and her own management/booking agency and in radio for Westinghouse Broadcasting and others.
