Project Description
How much a river can tell? This is a decolonial VR project that echoes the Amazon's river voice. The River produces and reverberates many sounds of human and non-human entities. A series of characters who expand or block the rivers´ life and voice will give their testimony. The audience embarks on this adventure about the transformations of the Amazon River connecting us all. We will construct an installation where the public can explore many layers and sounds of the river together with specific images of different journeys of the co-habitants of the river. That can be a fish, a boat, a child playing, a port, a scientist, an indigenous shaman, a particle, a dredger. We want to explore different densities, fabrics and components that transform the river in a live archive of habitability, life, death and conflicts. From outside of the installation the audience can hear the composition of sound overlays. This overlay is a sound insurrection of countless struggles that echo in the existence of the Amazon River.
