The Human Object - Racism has History

Stella Asiimwe works as a cultural mediator at the Vienna World Museum where she deals daily with artifacts that were once stolen from Africa due to the European spirit of discovery. But one collection, deep in the museum's archives, is particularly close to her heart. It is the legacy of Robert Stigler. This Viennese doctor traveled to Uganda in 1911 on behalf of the Academy of Sciences to find the difference between blacks and whites. Stella now sees her homeland from the perspective of a racial researcher. She realizes that such a viewpoint is not merely an aberration in history, but that race is still made a reality today.
