Project Description
In several parts of the world, indigenous law practitioners, social movements and communities are challenging the Eurocentrist legal framework by defending their ways of being and existing.
A common goal arises: bringing to the forefront other ways of relating to “Nature”, in the hopes of changing the destructive practices that have shaped the Anthropocene. The RIVERS project supports these struggles, and bets on the need to further dialogue between all kinds of legal systems to find common ground.
Showcasing through multimedia tools the individual stories in the countries where RIVERS conducts research (Colombia, Guatemala and Nepal), is an important element of our approach to science communication. By developing audiovisual narratives we hope to tell compelling stories about these issues, and widen the conversation by reaching justice practitioners, civil society and the general public worldwide.
