Project Description
We follow Magda, a reproductive biologist fascinated by the uterus, back to the place where everyone's life once started, gaining new appreciation and knowledge of the remarkable uterus. First, Magda tests people's knowledge about the menstrual cycle on the streets, confirming that menstruation and menstrual health still remain taboo topics, associated with stigma and many misconceptions. But why are people so uncomfortable to talk about something so natural? In search for answers, she turns to people with experience communicating and working on menstrual health to get their perspective, advice and stories on how we can: (i) best tackle misinformation, (ii) talk openly about something that is such a personal and yet universal topic that has been silenced by the society for so long and (iii) bring period positivity and appreciation to our daily lives. Eventually collecting positive examples of what we can all do to normalise periods to make the ~3,500 days a woman spends menstruating in her life less embarrassing.
