Project Description
This VR-game lets the participant dive into the human blood stream while embodying an immune cell that travels through the blood vessels and suddenly gets activated by another cell to find and kill cancer cells. On this journey the immune cell matures and learns how to use its cellular communication skills to destroy the disease. After exploring the world within the body, the game starts and the participant receives several tools to fight the cancer cells. The use of these is trained while mastering increasingly challenging levels and a scoring system will allow for comparison of the participant's achievements with others. This game targets teenagers, who are loosing their childlike curiosity and their interest in learning. Since this audience grew up with digital media, it is not easy to impress them and gain their attention. So, the approach to design a game in virtual reality meets the audience where it is and lets them experience by themselves rather than simply receiving information.
