Short company profile MITTELDEUTSCHE MEDIENFÖRDERUNG (MDM) is a regional film fund that caters for the German federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia together called Mitteldeutschland. MDM fosters the development, strengthening, and promotion of creative media industries by supporting film, television and new media projects in all phases – from development through production to distribution and presentation. We look for outstanding fiction, documentary and animation projects as well as VR and AR contents or games with strong stories, convincing artistic strategies as well as adequate marketing which are culturally and economically promising. Possibilities for funding co-productions MDM can support international co-productions that have the potential to attract audiences in the co-producing countries and beyond. A German co-producer from the Mitteldeutschland region should be attached to the project and at least 100% of the granted funding has to be spent in the region for the production and post-production of the project. MDM is a member of the CineRegio network and partner to the Polish-German Film Fund and to the Dutch-German Co-Development Fund for Children’s Films.
